Murderer Guide | WEAPON DUELS

Welcome to the murderer side of WEAPON DUELS — the Roblox pad-queue PvP title from Twin Comets (place 82983707799188). Most murderer guides on YouTube were written for Murder Mystery 2, MM2, or the inspiration MvS game; this page is scoped to the knife-first pad duels format here, where murderers live and die in the first six studs of every round.

This is a role-specific companion to Getting Started and How to Win. If you have not yet picked abilities, read Abilities first, then come back.

What being a murderer actually means in WEAPON DUELS

In the classic MvS loop you are the knife side. Your gun exists as a panic fallback when a Dash whiffs and the sheriff has range, but every duel resolves through:

  • Close-range ambush — getting inside the sheriff’s gun range before the round timer starts moving.
  • Dash timing — landing the first hit during the i-frames of Dash so the sheriff cannot trade you back.
  • Round reset reads — knowing when a sheriff will commit to a long-range shot, so you can counter-dash into them.
  • Tracking cooldowns — if Shroud pops, you have a 0.4s vanish + 0.4s reveal window; punish the reveal, not the vanish.

Pad formats change this drastically. In 1v1 pads you are the entire threat; in 4v4 pads you are the opener for your team’s knife-train combo.

Loadout order for murderers

Stars are tight when you start. Spend them in this order so you are competitive inside your first ten duels:

  1. Dash — 3,750 Stars. Mandatory for every murderer. Lets you close distance through gunfire and abuse the i-frame hit window.
  2. Butterfly Knife (or any fast-swing knife) — knives are the only weapon tier that matters for a fresh murderer; your starter knife will lose trades against every other knife user at level 50.
  3. Shroud — 5,000 Stars. Lets you reset after a whiffed Dash without dying. Most overpowered single ability on the murderer side of the round.
  4. Weapon Buff — 6,000 Stars. Late-game unlock for team-fight Knife swings that two-shot sheriffs in 2v2/3v3 pads.
  5. Battle Pass tier perks — read Battle Pass for Murderer coin-bonus tiers so every duel passively funds your next ability.

Resist the urge to buy a sniper — the Trading Value List shows sniper demand is high but your role will not use it.

Pad-format playbooks

The duel pad size changes your murderer priorities drastically:

  • 1v1 pads — aggression on round one is mandatory; the sheriff is ready to prefire. Open with Dash from off-angle so they cannot pre-aim you. If you whiff, Shroud back to safety and reset.
  • 2v2 pads — coordinate with your partner murderer; one opens with Dash, the other counter-Shrouds the sheriff’s counter-Shroud. Two-man Dash trains are the highest-DPS play the game offers.
  • 3v3 pads — your floater is the clean-up murderer. They wait off-pad, watch for a Dash audio cue, then punish the over-committed sheriff while they are still mid-cooldown.
  • 4v4 pads — split 2/2 across both halves; one murderer opens, the other murders the teammate who peeled.

Full pad callouts live on the House Map and Aztec Map Guide pages.

How to read the round before it starts

Inside the duel pad countdown you have roughly 3 seconds. Use them:

  • Note the sheriff’s gun — revolver has a slow first-shot cooldown; Sawed-Off punishes a mis-positioned dash hard. Pick your opener accordingly.
  • Note the knife — Butterfly has faster M1 chains but a longer cooldown on missed swings; default Knife is forgiving.
  • Watch the map geometry — House has corner sightlines a sheriff will prefire; Aztec has long lanes a sheriff cannot prefire but will scope-check. Plan your entry accordingly.
  • Decide first move — open with Dash, or fake-Dash into a Shroud reset.

A good murderer times the opener to the sheriff’s first-shot cooldown. A great murderer baits the first shot, then Dashes into the recoil.

Anti-sheriff habits to punish

  • Pre-firing corners — if the sheriff prefires, you have a free Dash through them and a backstab window.
  • Tunnel-vision on the gun — they will not turn to chase you; punish by Dash-swinging after their reload.
  • Bunny-hop panic — sheriff who jumps randomly during reload is free; punish with one M1.
  • Predictable Shroud usage — sheriff Shroud has the same vanish-reveal window as yours. Track the audio.

Mistakes murderers make in their first 50 duels

  • Swinging first at gun range — sheriff wins every long-range trade.
  • Dash into a corner — you become an easy headshot target.
  • Forgetting the round counter — first to six wins. Stop trying to ace round one.
  • Ignoring team fights — in 3v3/4v4, the murderer who peels for their own teammate wins more than the murderer who chases kills.
  • Stacking knives — two knives are not better than a knife plus a Shroud reset.

FAQ

Q: What is the best knife for a murderer in WEAPON DUELS? A: Butterfly Knife is the most-used pick for its M1 chain speed, but the tier list page keeps the live ranking updated as Twin Comets rebalances. Always check before a major Star purchase.

Q: Should I use Shroud before or after Dash? A: Shroud after Dash is the standard combo on a whiffed opener; Shroud before Dash is the trick-play to bait a sheriff’s counter-Shroud. Read Ability Combos for the full chain map.

Q: Do murderers get bonus Stars in 4v4? A: No. Stars reward duels won, not roles. Murderers in 4v4 actually earn slightly more because they land more killing blows. Spend them on abilities, not on bling — see Trading Value List.

Q: Can I snipe as a murderer? A: You can equip a sniper, but you lose every dash-trade because the equip time gives the sheriff free shots. Stick to knife + Shroud.

Q: How do I report a cheating murderer? A: Murderers get reported by sheriffs too. See Anti-Cheat for the report flow and what Twin Comets actually bans.
